This is becoming a bit of a habit but once again we’ve teamed up our Herts Jazz patron, Art Themen, with members of the new generation. James Owston on bass has already recently been heard at the club with Clark’s quintet and on piano Noah Stoneman is, at the age of 17, one of the most gifted young jazz musicians in the country. Art Themen of course is one of our national treasures, having worked alongside important jazz figures since the late 1950s, and continuing to cultivate a younger audience as he approaches his 79th birthday. Art, it has been justly argued, is playing at the top of his game.
